The Patent infringement case (3:11-cv-00116) between F.C. Patents and The Ford Meter Box Company,
with regard to Design Patent D612,465, covering the ornamental design of a “Fire Service Fixture” device, has
been resolved. Simmons Patents performed a risk benefit analysis, and based on such analysis, recommended
that Plaintiff, F.C. Patents, dismiss the suit as the currently available evidence indicated that there were insufficient
sales and associated damages to support the suit. F.C. Patent did not grant a license to The Ford Meter
Box Company. This issue will likely be revisited within a year after the USPTO issues a utility patent
covering the “Fire Service Fixture” device.
